HAPPY TRAVELERS

"Jamie created a trip to Zambia that was absolutely unforgettable. Her personal connections with the people and the places added tremendous depth to the trip, and when I exchange "Africa stories" with other friends who have traveled there I end up feeling that I really got something out of the ordinary."  ~Vicki McVey

"When you grow up thinking of Africa as Tarzan and the Apes, Natives dancing around fires in strange costumes, and wild animals running off with village children, it is thrilling to find yourself in Zambia, the real Africa.  Yes there were safaris, evening cruises on the mighty Zambezi, visits to Victoria Falls and shopping all the boutiques but the biggest surprise was the open friendliness and joy of all the people we met.  They immediately make you feel at home and are happy to educate you all about their country.  A bonus was that they all speak English so communicating was no problem.  I hope to someday go back to reacquaint myself with those wonderful people."  ~Judy Barnes, Grandma’s Without Borders

"I just wanted to say thanks for everything you did on my first trip to Zambia!!  I had told myself this would be one of those once in a lifetime trips and had expectations of what I wanted to see and do.  Well I have to tell you exceeded all of my expectations!!  You created a trip that was well rounded and allowed for me to really see the culture of Zambia, my idea of going to Zambia to see some animals and stay at some lodges, well I was wrong!  You brought some amazing experiences into my life, from introducing me to  Charlie, Jo, Lucy, and Steve at Shiwa to diving into Devils Pool at Victoria falls to seeing Lions, Elephants, Hippos, Zebra’s, and so many more that I can’t name them all.  I told myself that this was a once a lifetime trip but after my visit I have to go back and visit again, hopefully in a couple of years you!!!
I have toured countries all over the world and I have to say this was the most rewarding trip I have ever taken in my life and you made this all possible through your dedication to the group and your understanding of Zambia and the people.
Thanks so much for everything you did!!!!"  ~Dave Lewellen

"Dear fellow travelers,
Let me introduce you to my favorite tour guide.  Jaime Ferguson is my favorite because she blends a personal touch with professional experience.
I worked with Jaime to coordinate a trip through Zambia with a group of my friends and family.  Many of the members hadn’t met before the trip and had a variety of goals for their African experience.  Jaime coordinated a tour that, of course, included amazing animal viewing and bird watching, but also a historical perspective, a chance to meet and socialize with local residents, and plenty of thrills.  Two of us even stayed after the tour for a week of volunteer work.  Everyone’s goals were met and we all came home satisfied that our investment in time and funds were well spent.
Not only did Jaime tell us enough words to greet folks in their native language, but her friendly way of interacting with others is contagious.  Soon, we were all happy ambassadors smiling and laughing as we negotiated in the markets, learned about Zambia, and made new friends.
Jaime matched us with lodging that exactly suited us.  After being in country and seeing all the options available, I wouldn’t have changed a thing.  That’s not to say that the vacation didn’t have a few hiccups.  Every trip does.  Those were the times where Jaime’s professionalism really shone.
We had a few automobile break downs.  While the drivers affected road side repairs, Jaime treated us to a picnic.  We also had a last minute itinerary change causing us to arrive a night early at one of our locations.  Jaime, handled the schedule change with a few phone calls, and we were warmly welcomed by our hosts.
Clearly Jaime knows Zambia well.  That’s because she takes the time to research and explore.  She is the sort of global citizen that blooms wherever she’s planted.  She even smoothed over the difficult personalities of a few members of the tour.  Jaime managed the Americans with her trademark friendly competence.
From packing suggestions to on-line photo sharing, Jaime guided us through a most memorable experience.  We were cared for, but not smothered.  When we needed to meet a boat or tour, we were on time.  Whenever possible we were allowed to explore our individual interests.
I would recommend touring with Jaime to anyone.  But beware – You will fall in love with Africa and you will want to return.
Happy Trails,
Linda McVey
